The dark spots and discolorations in the skin can be a difficult and embarrassing. The pigmentation of the skin, age spots and melasma are difficult to treat. There is no shortage of disappearing creams on the market – many of which are unsafe and do more harm than good, such as those containing hydroquinone. Others are simply ineffective and a waste of time and money. However, there is the possibility that a simple natural home remedy can be the solution you’re looking for.
The first time notice the dark area on the forehead, in my thirties, I do not know what it was. It was the dirt? Do not wash! I did some research and determined it was melasma – as old stain is a type of skin hyperpigmentation.
Age spots are usually as large, dark freckles. Melasma is a darker area in patches that often affects the forehead, temples and cheeks. Both age spots and melasma can be treated by the same types of lighting solutions.
Since I’m the kind of girl who appreciates a good home remedy, I dove headfirst into research and found several simple treatments natural to try to clear the spots darkening of the face.
Vinegar: Dilute the vinegar with water equality, and used to clean and wash your face. Allow to air dry to seal in the moisture. Or, use vinegar and water mixture in place of an astringent or toner. Vinegar is acetic acid chemically, and is capable of bleaching and brightness, and make the skin softer and more radiant. It has also long been used for a skin softener. Apple cider or natural vinegar is recommended, although some people use distilled white vinegar.
Onion juice: To get onion juice may cut an onion finely, or mixture, and squeeze the juice through cheesecloth. Mix equal part apple cider vinegar, apply twice daily with a cotton ball and see the results in the next several weeks. Alternatively, you can cut a slice of onion, dip it in vinegar and apply it to tarnish.
Lemon juice: Apply the juice of one fresh lemon to pigmentation have an effect similar to onion remedy – it is acidic and can safely take off the top layer of the skin, causing spots to fade.
The onion, vinegar and lemon juice are excellent home remedies to relieve you of age spots, melasma, pigmentation and discoloration. I found this very effective treatment for lightening long several weeks – I did not like was the smell of onions. Although it was big in a hurry, did not want the smelly hands and face life, so I learned many more natural remedies to combat my melasma.
