Has anyone had melasma on my face?
What can a dermitolagist do for me? laser, cream, nuts? What works? Begins to fade then I get the sun and sets darker. I have it on my upper lip and nose when I was prego. I hate that I feel as if I had the dirt on the nose and mustache to: (please help me.
This sounds like "mask of pregnancy", which is basically the melasma caused by hormones. If you are on birth control it will continue as if pregnant. If possible try a type of non-hormonal birth control, first check into this. Meanwhile, use a good sunscreen and if you wear makeup make-up test mineral, which is ideal for skin and SPF has also included so you are doubly protected. Try wearing a hat, to make more shade when you go out. Because lasers and shells may darken the melasma, a dermatologist is likely to give you something with hydroquinone, which has dangerous side effects. Try one of the cream of the source then instead, which worked very well on me.

Skin discoloration on ethnic skin?
I am a minority and knees and elbows are darker than the rest of my body. Also, I take birth control pills for a health problem I have and I started to develop melasma on the cheeks (a darkening of the skin on the side of the face due to hormones). All that other people of color out there, what do you use to lighten skin discolorations such how are you? How long does it take to disappear? Thanks for your time.
Use 100% cocoa butter and make sure that are very consistent in using this. You should see results if you are a consistent user! Besides, I have ligtening / bleaching creams. I'm not sure what safe and accurate as these products are, but you might want to talk to your dermatologist or take the time to research these products and see in any event to suit your needs. How do I get rid of these dark spots on the chest?
I have these dark spots on the chest that often seem to disappear. Fade a bit and then goes dark. They have never gone and do not know if weather or hormones or what is causing it. They occurred when I was pregnant and that was 4 years ago. My doctor told me it was not the melasma and gave me a cream to help. Well, not aid at all. They are tough-looking and feeling. Ill be honest and say it looks like I no bushes so you know what I mean. But I do not scrub and no matter how hard I do I can not disappear. When I say it fades, it's like out swamps but can still be seen ... only slight. HELP!
Because dermatology is a visual science, I'd suggest that any post some clear pictures of the items in question, or show the points with a dermatologist (not just physician).

What would you So many questions asked about this … ? Melasma?
I have points dark, on my upper lip that looks like a mustache, and I'm in the way of thinking that his "melasma". I've been using Neutrogena sunscreen (SPF 55) every day now, and being, its slightly fading ... by 1 / 100 ... well, it's a start. Autumn is the season, and I am hoping that vanish during the winter (December-February) with sunscreen treatment ... it disappear? Also, if there are any suggestions on how RESOURCE HOME rid of it, please let me know. PLEASE.
Hyperpigmentation on her upper lip is a form of melasma. I have tried many over the counter treatments and creams prescribed by the physician to help fade the pigment. I have seen no results so far, however, I have spoken with many who did have results in about 3-4 weeks and it was clarified its Melasma after a few months. Melasma I had about a year and a half.

I have a very bad case of melasma (confirmed by a dermatologist), especially in the upper lip which makes it look as if he had a mustache, which is pretty embarrassing. I'm not on birth control and in my early 40s. Dermatologist suggest bleach cream that costs $ 100 for small tube. I have tried over the counter creams (Meladerm, Oil of Olay cream, Definity etc.) who want work but do not. Someone has to know something more than work …. HELP!
Hydroquinone cream is not low cost you can get at the pharmacy, such as porcelain. You need a prescription for the strongest material, but you can get it in Mexico without. It takes 3 weeks or longer work. Also you should not be exposed to the sun, even with sunscreen. You must use a wide-brimmed hat. A few minutes of sun exposure can ruin everything month-fading.
