How do I get rid of these dark spots on the chest?
I have these dark spots on the chest that often seem to disappear. Fade a bit and then goes dark. They have never gone and do not know if weather or hormones or what is causing it. They occurred when I was pregnant and that was 4 years ago. My doctor told me it was not the melasma and gave me a cream to help. Well, not aid at all. They are tough-looking and feeling. Ill be honest and say it looks like I no bushes so you know what I mean. But I do not scrub and no matter how hard I do I can not disappear. When I say it fades, it's like out swamps but can still be seen ... only slight. HELP!
Because dermatology is a visual science, I'd suggest that any post some clear pictures of the items in question, or show the points with a dermatologist (not just physician).

Causes and risk factors: Melasma is a very common skin disorder. Although it can affect anyone, young women with brownish skin tones are the ones who are most at risk. Melasma is often associated with female hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is especially common in pregnant women, women taking oral contraceptives (the pill), and women taking hormone replacement therapy during menopause. Sun exposure is also a strong risk factor for melasma. It is particularly common in tropical climates. Treatment: A combination of tretinoin cream and a bleaching cream containing hydroquinone may be helpful in fading some types of melasma. Occasionally, your doctor may add peel chemical or topical steroid creams as well. In severe cases, laser treatments can be used to remove the dark pigment majority. important, however, avoid the sun and using sunscreen every day is key to preventing melasma.
